Collaborate with nature to defy nature

I’m exploring our special relationship between chemistry and nature.

Our skin is the largest organ we all possess, so we should take care of it.

I’ve been studying how we use cosmetics to defy the appearance of nature as we get older. Yes this is about anti ageing and rejuvenation…sorry to all those Benjamin Buttons out there…

Unfortunately mother nature can be cruel to us (some more than others) and there’s no way to halt this process, however we can try to mitigate the rate and reduce the appearance of age. Good diet and environmental factors are important, but good skincare is also very important. As we get older our skin starts to lose elasticity, dry out and wrinkle particularly around the eyes and lips on the face and neck; liver spots may start to form at more advanced stages of ageing and sun damage.

Today I’ve formulated a anti ageing serum for the decolletage area with a few active ingredients. The active ingredients are mainly antioxidants which prevent free radicals from damaging skin further and I’ve included pseudo collagen to help skin cells stay plump rather than collapse with age. All ingredients are suitable for vegans and multi-faiths.

For those who have an curious side, here’s what’s in it:

Shea Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Thistle Oil, Water, Emulsifier (derived from sustainable palm), Cetyl Alcohol (not fermented alcohol so safe for those of Islamic faith), Glycerine and Preservative Eco (Certified by Ecocert). Active ingredients: Pseudo Collagen (derived from Brewers Yeast),Vitamin E, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin C, Natural Moisturising Factor, Botanical Spilanthus extract, Botanical Ginseng, Gingko, Centella & Olive leaf extract, Aloe Vera Extract, Xanthan Gum, Lavender, Geranium and Sandalwood essential oils.

So I’ve started measuring all my ingredients and made the first stage.

Takes a bit of time controlling all the temperatures and making sure each ingredient is carefully added at their respective stages.

Once bottled, the end product looks like this:

Each ingredient will work to fight the signs of ageing and it’s all natural.

Aside

Okay so here goes my first post. I’m no great writer or photographer. I started this blog so that you can follow my real journey into starting my new career. My name is Beatrice and I’ve always wanted to run my own business, just what it could be is what I pondered for some time. It occured to me one day when I got curious whilst sitting at my desk at work applying face cream after a shower from my lunchtime run. What exactly is in this cream that I’m applying to my face? So I peeled of the back and looked at this garble of chemical names. One by one I Googled each of them to find out what each was and why it is used in this cream. Fascinated by this, I thought that there must be a more natural way to achieve this cream… Yes there is! And The Infusionist was born. Looked up homemade skincare recipes and attempted a few at home with a degree of success. Friends and family loved the products and my passion and enthusiasm for this new field. Thought it better to understand natural skincare better, so took a few courses in natural skincare to make sure I know exactly what I’m doing. Let’s hope The Infusionist blooms into something a great as I want it to be. Hoping that you can join me on my new adventures. Thanks for reading this first blog and hope you keep reading.
